Our Senior Companion program made a significant impact on the Nye community, thanks to the generosity of one incredible volunteer. Many of our clients are homebound and alone during the holidays, and RSVP is dedicated to helping them feel included and connected during this special time of year.
This remarkable volunteer came up with the idea to deliver up to 20 Christmas dinners to clients in the area who would be spending the holidays at home. Collaborating with her local RSVP Service Coordinator, she identified clients who were interested in receiving the meals. On Christmas Eve, the volunteer picked up the dinners and drove over 30 miles to personally deliver them to clients in need, all without requesting mileage reimbursement.
The clients were deeply touched by her selfless and kind gesture, making their holidays brighter and more meaningful.
