Nevada Volunteer Program Launch
Volunteers Needed!
Dear RSVP Supporters and Volunteers,
As we begin another exciting month of service and community impact, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your continued dedication to the Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program. Your time, talent, and compassionate service are the heart of our mission — helping seniors, adults with disabilities, caregivers, and families across rural Nevada remain independent, connected, and supported.
Celebrating Our Recent Open House
Last week, we hosted a successful Volunteer Open House in Carson City where community members of all ages stopped by to learn more about volunteering with RSVP. It was inspiring to see such enthusiasm for service, and many attendees expressed excitement about the wide range of flexible volunteer opportunities we offer — from providing escorted transportation and companionship to supporting caregivers with respite care. I extend special thanks to our staff and volunteers who welcomed guests, shared their stories, and helped highlight the meaningful impact of our programs.
Upcoming Events & Opportunities
There’s always something happening across Nevada, and I encourage you to stay engaged:
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser – Pahrump on March 28, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at The Moose – Pahrump Lodge. Join us for great food, community fellowship, and support for RSVP services across rural counties.
Our regular community programs — including Dementia Friendly gatherings, Conversations for Caregivers, and JAVA Circle — continue throughout the state. These events are vital touchpoints for connection and support for caregivers, older adults, and neighbors who benefit from RSVP’s reach.
We are also hosting Volunteer Open Houses in our rural communities — please check our website often for new locations and dates as they are scheduled. Each open house is a great way to learn about volunteer roles that fit any schedule or passion.
Nevada Volunteer Campaign
As part of the statewide Nevada Volunteer Campaign, we are amplifying opportunities for people to serve in ways that truly make a difference. Volunteerism strengthens our communities, bolsters social connections, and enriches lives — both those being served and those who serve. RSVP is proud to be a partner in this campaign, and we encourage you to share your volunteer experiences with friends, neighbors, and family members who may be seeking meaningful ways to give back.
Your continued involvement — whether through direct service, event participation, or word-of-mouth support — ensures that Nevada’s rural communities thrive with dignity and care.
Thank you for everything you do. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events.
Warmly,
Molly Walt, M.A.Ed.
