A volunteer recently joined RSVP as a companionship volunteer in Nye County (Pahrump). He approached us with a strong sense of purpose, expressing a deep calling to support his fellow seniors in the community. Since joining, the volunteer has become a beacon of positivity in the lives of our clients.
His genuine warmth and willingness to assist others have made a significant impact. He shares a special connection with his client, which was evident from their very first meeting. After their initial introduction, they even went to the VFW together to further deepen their bond.
Always ready to lend a helping hand, he consistently makes himself available as a companion. He understands the importance of companionship, especially for his client, who hasn’t been able to get out much since a recent diagnosis. Despite initial hesitation, his client has come to appreciate and enjoy his company, thanks to Steve’s compassionate and supportive presence.
