The Elko County Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser was a wonderful success, bringing the community together in support of services that benefit older adults and caregivers in our region. The evening was filled with great food, music, and strong community spirit, and the funds raised will directly support critical programs such as transportation, homemaker services, respite care, and volunteer companionship in Elko County.<\/p>\n
We would like to extend a special thank you to Service Coordinator Jeana Rea and her family for their leadership, time, and dedication in organizing this event. Their hard work and commitment were instrumental in making the fundraiser both successful and enjoyable for everyone who attended.<\/p>\n

Their commitment represents hundreds of moments of kindness, reliability, and care that made a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults, caregivers, and the broader community.<\/p>\n During this time, volunteers provided transportation to medical appointments, offered companionship, supported caregivers, and served at what we call \u201cvolunteer stations,\u201d including libraries, museums, hospitals, the sheriff\u2019s office, and other community locations. Their service helps government entities and nonprofit organizations operate more efficiently by reducing costs that would otherwise be incurred for paid staff, while ensuring that essential services remain available to the public.<\/p>\n Contributing more than 200 hours of service over the course of a year is a significant commitment and reflects a deep dedication to serving others and strengthening our communities. We are deeply grateful for the time, compassion, and energy these volunteers shared. I do not drive and live outside of town, so this service is extremely valuable. It allows me to get to the grocery store and attend medical appointments without difficulty.<\/p>\n The drivers are safe, kind, punctual, and professional. The staff in the Carson office are understanding and helpful, and they consistently ensure I get where I need to go.
