Let’s Come Together for Elko Seniors!

Dear Friends of RSVP,

Sometimes, making a difference starts with something simple: a ride to a doctor’s appointment, a friendly phone call, or a visit that reminds someone they are not alone. At Nevada Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc., these small acts of kindness make a big difference in the lives of seniors across rural Nevada.

I recently joined Lori Gilbert on KELK’s Wellness Wednesday to share how RSVP supports older adults and how more community members can get involved. Helping seniors stay independent. RSVP connects older adults in rural Nevada with services and support that help them remain independent and engaged in their communities.

Interview Highlights

Volunteer Drivers Are Urgently Needed: Reliable transportation helps seniors get to medical appointments and other essential destinations.

Companionship Makes a Difference: Volunteers who visit seniors at home or call them by phone can ease loneliness and build meaningful connections.

Everyone Can Help: Community members can make a difference by volunteering, supporting RSVP programs, and sharing the organization’s mission with others.
